Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme is hosted by MizB from Books and a Beat.
1. Grab your current read
2. Open to a random page
3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
4. Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week my teaser is about a classic, and you have probably all heard about it, it’s Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, which I am currently reading for college.
Genre: Literature, Fiction, Coming of Age, Historical (19th Century)
“Joe’s blue eyes turned a little watery; he rubbed, first one of them, and then the other, in a most uncomfortable and uncongenital manner, with the round knob on the top of the poker.” – from p.41
(my edition is a critical edition with many notes and critics, it’s the one pictured above)
You have most likely heard of that book so I needn’t add more. I’m just going to say that I finished the first part, and so far, I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would!
