Teaser Tuesday #13

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme is hosted by MizB from Books and a Beat.

1. Grab your current read

2. Open to a random page

3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

4. Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Great Expectations: Authoritative Text, Backgrounds, Contexts, Criticism (Critical Editions)

I’m still reading Great Expectations (though I finished two other books in the meantime) so I thought I’d simply share another quote from it!

Genre: Literature, Fiction, Coming of Age, Historical (19th Century)

My quote:

“I entertain a certain conviction, based upon large experience, that if in the days of my prosperity I had gone to the North Pole, I should have met somebody there, wandering Esquimaux or civilized man, who would have told me that Pumblechook was my earliest patron and the founder of my fortunes.”

It’s from p.178 in my edition (part twon chapter 28)

I still enjoy it but I dislike Pip’s character more and more… However it’s really beautifully written. I’ll see what I think in the end!

  1. Interesting teasers! I tried reading Great Expectations last year but couldn’t stay focused… I should pick it up again at some point, although I’m not sure if it will be any time soon haha. I’m curious to find out what you think of it after you finished it! 🙂

Happy reading! Here’s my teaser of Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch.
