Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme is hosted by MizB from Books and a Beat.
1. Grab your current read
2. Open to a random page
3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
4. Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Today I’m going to talk about a French book which was just released earlier in April, it’s called Mémoire de Fille (A Girl’s Memory) and was written by Annie Ernaux (yes, her again… She is so amazing, like, she is my role model, and she is going to come to one of our literature classes in May, I can’t wait!!)
I translated the quote myself since the book was just released. As most of Ernaux’s other works, it is Non Fiction.
“Elle a plus que jamais besoin des autres, de se mettre dans l’état d’euphorie qu’elle éprouve à raconter aux autres ses vacances.”
“She needs the others more than ever, she needs this state of euphoria she feels when she talks about her summer break with other people.” (from p.84)
